Marva Langevine is an educator, Queen’s Young leader, pioneer, child bereavement advocate, founder of Guyana Golden Lives org and executive director of Marva’s HUGS. She lives by the mantra - “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”. This mantra is from her birthday twin, Martin Luther King, Jr. and just like him, she is always passionate about making positive contributions and changes to the world around her.

Salima Hinds is a book loving, sex positive, Black Guyanese feminist. A gender specialist with over 10 years civil society experience, she's interested in examining intersectional power related to race, gender and class. She believes that womxn have a right to live free from all forms of violence and oppression. In her spare time she enjoys desserts, a good cup of tea, traveling (when COVID19 wasn't a thing), and not killing her plants.

Akola Thompson is a writer, researcher and professional troublemaker. Inspired by the intersectional feminist work of Caribbean feminists such as Andaiye and Rhoda Reddock, Akola spends a lot of time plotting the downfall of capitalism and white supremacy. A lover of water, sun and the outdoors, you can often find her deep in some bush, curled up with a good book or unsuccessfully trying to tame her mane.
